Drinking Water Quality Management System (DWQMS)
With the proclamation of Section 33 of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) a new approvals process, the Municipal Drinking Water Licence Program (MDWLP), was initiated by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC).  Under this new program municipalities are required to obtain a license to operate their municipal drinking water systems and are mandated to incorporate the concept of quality management into the operations of their municipal drinking water systems.

In order to obtain a Municipal Drinking Water Licence to operate the Chatsworth and Walters Falls Water Systems, a Drinking Water Works Permit (DWWP) for Chatsworth, a Drinking Water Works Permit (DWWP) for Walters Falls, an approved Operational Plan, an Accredited Operating Authority, an approved Financial Plan and a Permit to Take Water are required to be in place.

The Township of Chatsworth has been issued a Municipal Drinking Water Licence for the Chatsworth Water System and a Municipal Drinking Water Licence for the Walters Falls Water systems.
